Bioengineered Cellular Tissue-Based Products in Practice: Coding, Coverage, and Clinical Considerations

Duration
60 minutes

Description

Cellular and/or tissue-based products (CTPs) play an important role in the treatment of chronic wounds. Clinicians must balance product clinical efficacy and evidence with evolving policy and documentation requirements while delivering effective patient care. This session highlights practical considerations for use of a bioengineered cellular product to heal DFUs and VLUs. The panel will also review key policy updates and their implications for current and future practice. Attendees will gain actionable insights to support evidence-based, effective CTP use across multiple care settings.

  • Understand how differences in CTP evidence and regulatory pathways inform clinical decision-making and product selection
  • Apply best practices for billing, coding, and documentation, along with illustrative reimbursement examples
  • Gain awareness of CMS policy updates (OPPS, PFS, WISeR) and their potential impact on future practice
