Dr. Arthur Slutsky is a Professor of Medicine, Surgery, and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Toronto and the former Vice President of Research at St. Michael’s Hospital. He has served as Director of both the Respiratory Division and the Interdepartmental Division of Critical Care Medicine at the University of Toronto. Dr. Slutsky’s research into mechanical ventilation, atelectrauma, biotrauma, and ventilator-induced pulmonary injury has significantly impacted the field. His work has led to advancements in lung protection strategies for ARDS and influenced ventilation practices in ICUs and operating rooms.
