Dr. Lauren Maloney is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Stony Brook University Hospital, where she also serves as the Medical Director for the university’s Paramedic Program and as the inaugural Police Surgeon for the Stony Brook University Police Department. She holds five degrees from Stony Brook University, including a BE in Biomedical Engineering and an MD with Distinction in Medical Education. Dr. Maloney is double board-certified in Emergency Medicine and Emergency Medical Services, with over a decade of experience as a 911 and critical care transport paramedic in New York City and Long Island. Her research, supported by SUNY and NIH funding, has been published in esteemed journals such as “Academic Medicine” and “Annals of Biomedical Engineering.” In 2019, she received two national awards for research and education at the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine Annual Conference, marking a first for Stony Brook Medicine.
