Marcus Gitterle, MD is an experienced medical leader in the fields of Wound Care, Hyberbaric Medicine, and Amputation Prevention. He is co-founder and Chief Medical Officer of WoundCentrics, LLC, a disruptive innovator in the wound care industry. In this context, Dr. Gitterle successfully pioneered the deployment of regional, cross-continuum wound care teams, to provide seamless and cost-effective, patient-centered amputation prevention care in General Hospitals, LTACHS, Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospitals, Skilled Nursing, Long-Term Care, Outpatient Wound and Vascular Care Centers, And Ambulatory Surgery Facilities. As CMO, he supervises a team of physicians and advanced practice professionals in more than 100 facilities, in 13 states.

Dr. Gitterle has served in multiple hospital leadership roles, including Chairman of Infection Control, Chief of Emergency Medicine, Chairman of the Medical Executive Committee, Chairman of the Peer Review Committee, and Chief of Medical Staff. He is an experienced Principal Investigator, with experience in study design, including research in Wound Microbiome and Transcriptomics, as well as clinical research in diagnosis and treatment of chronic, non-healing wounds. As a founder and clinical instructor with Wound Care University, he has trained physicians on six continents in the treatment of complex, chronic wounds, including diabetic foot ulcers, and amputation prevention strategies.

Dr. Gitterle lives in Central Texas with his wife, Sculptor Heather Carter, and two sons.
