Dr Satpathy is an internationally renowned Interventional Cardiologist who is the Director of Structural Heart Program at Baptist Medical Center, Jacksonville, FL. She is a pioneer in the field of Structural Heart field and has been a principal investigator of many national trials over more than a decade that led to FDA approval of these devices. She is well published with >200 citations and has been involved in writing practice guidelines and consensus documents with ACC, SCAI, STS,CMS and FDA etc. She is an international proctor for for TAVR, Mitral Clip, TMVR and LAA closure procedures and travels all over world to share her expertise and teach new physicians and operators.

She performed first trans catheter valve surgery in Nebraska in 2012 and later became the national director of trans catheter valve therapy for all CHI hospitals in the country. She joined Baptist as the Director of the program in 2016 and started trans catheter MV repair and minimalistic TAVR procedure and Watchman procedure in Jacksonville. The Structural Heart program at Baptist has grown to be #1 in FL state over last few years under her leadership. Because of her expertise, she is an invited speaker at national conventions of ACC, AHA, TCT, TVT, SCAI and also often invited to do live case for international conferences to teach cutting edge technologies to interventional cardiologists and cardio thoracic surgeons from our own structural hybrid OR at Baptist Heart Hospital.

She started the regional cardiovascular symposium in Jacksonville in 2017, which is a full day educational event and occurs every year at Saw grass Marriott and is attended by 250 providers. She and her husband Mr Ajaya Kar, Registered Architect in the state of Florida are involved in many philanthropic activities. Every year 10 talented and skilled nurses get awarded “Satpathy Scholarships” @Baptist for their hard work, and dedication at the annual heart scholar celebration event.
