Tara Roberts is a nationally recognized healthcare leader and licensed physical therapist with over 30 years of experience in post-acute care, clinical innovation, and quality advancement. A 1995 graduate of Georgia State University, Tara joined Nexion Health in 2004, where she currently serves as Vice President of Quality, Rehab, and Wound Care Services, supporting operations across skilled nursing facilities in Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi.

Tara is a passionate advocate for skin and wound care excellence. She has designed and implemented enterprise-level wound care programs rooted in best practices and has led national education efforts focused on pressure injury prevention. She is the developer of the SUCCESS Model for wound care education and the 3 C’s of Skin and Wound Care—a frontline framework for Competence, Confidence, and Continuous QA. She co-authored the iCARE Roadmap and contributed to the PAWSIC NPWT Education Series.

She served as co-chair for the Louisiana Wound Care Quality Initiative, working alongside the Louisiana Department of Health, LSUHSC, and the Louisiana Nursing Home Association to lead pressure injury and fall prevention programs. Her expertise has also supported national policy through roles as a CMS Technical Expert Panelist and contributor to AHCA’s behavioral health
and infection control education modules.

Tara’s thought leadership is widely published, including guest columns in McKnight’s Long-Term Care News on topics such as long-term wound care innovation, telehealth consults, and her mentorship initiative #UnboxMe. She is a featured presenter at major industry conferences including AHCA, NAHQNext, and PAWSIC.

Her professional affiliations include AHCA (Future Leader Class of 2016 and committee member), NASL (past Board Secretary), NAHQ, APTA, LPTA, and AANAC. She holds multiple certifications, including QAPI Certified Professional, Certified Dementia Practitioner,
and Advantage Certified Wound Physical Therapist.

Tara is also the founder of AdvantageYOU HCS, helping organizations elevate clinical, operational and quality performance in post-acute care.

Personally, Tara is married to Danny Roberts and is the proud mother of Abigail Pons, an optometry student at the Southern College of Optometry, and Devant Roberts, a student of Exercise Science at the University of Arkansas.
